Responsibilities of Recovery Worker Jobs

  • Perform preliminary screening and triage evaluations for newly acquired clients, and respond to urgent concerns or requirements in a suitable manner.
  • On a rota basis, provide crisis intervention and duty services to clients in the absence of their keyworker.
  • To offer guidance, information, and assistance pertaining to harm reduction, with a particular focus on safer sexual practices, HIV, Hepatitis A, B, and C, and other blood-borne infections.
  • Perform dry blood spot testing on clients who are at risk of contracting hepatitis C, and advise and assist service users regarding potential outcomes prior to and following testing.
  • To collaborate closely with the nursing staff and refer patients who have positive BBV tests.
  • For the purpose of caseload management, this may involve service recipients with less complex requirements.
  • In collaboration with service users and a multidisciplinary team, devise strengths-based recovery plans that are adaptable and pragmatic.
  • Review care plans at agreed-upon intervals in consultation with a multidisciplinary team, with an emphasis on service user participation and input, in accordance with service policy.
  • To ensure that strength-based assessment, care, and recovery planning are carried out individually in accordance with the service user’s particular requirements through one-on-one key working with service users.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of treatment tools, including those that quantify the phasing and stratification of treatment and the cycle of change, for use in key working sessions and supervision, and the ability to provide training on such tools.
  • Facilitate access, provide information, and direct individuals to recovery-oriented activities such as peer support, ETE, and mutual aid.
  • To assist prescribers in providing service consumers with alternative prescriptions. This entails conducting illicit drug testing on service users, coordinating with pharmacies concerning supervised consumption and dispensing, acting as a liaison with general practitioners, and producing or issuing prescriptions under the oversight of a medical prescriber.
  • Communicate with the GP Shared Care Team in order to identify and assist clients who are suitable for GPSC.
  • Adherence to local safeguarding protocols to ensure the welfare and security of children and vulnerable individuals
  • In order to facilitate the generation of reports that are essential for social services, tribunals, or other external entities.
  • Conduct home visits in accordance with trust policies and in response to legitimate needs.
  • To administer harm reduction services, including needle exchange, in accordance with NICE recommendations.
  • To encourage service recipients to participate in local service user activities, service planning, and service evaluation.
  • When suitable, involve family and acquaintances of the service recipient in their treatment, provided that they have provided explicit consent.
