Qualifications

Essential

The following are required:

• professional registration with the GPhC; *
• dispensing accuracy accreditation. West Midland’s initiative or an equivalent program.
• Proof of Continuous Professional Development.
• National Framework Accredited Checking Technician or equivalent.
• Additionally, one of the following:
• Level 3 Diploma in Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Technicians OR *
• BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Pharmaceutical Science and Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Pharmacy Service Skills OR *
• equivalent as defined by the General Pharmaceutical Council

• Pre-qualification work experience in pharmacy for a minimum of two years
• Presently employed as a Band 4 pharmacy technician or equivalent with post-qualification experience in an acute setting *

• Significant experience in a pharmacy setting *
• Experience in the specialist function for the area of responsibility *
• Experience in organizing other grades of staff and their workload *
