We are fortunate to have the opportunity to work and provide care in our purpose-built, attractive maternity unit. At present, we care for approximately 4,700 births annually and schedule more than 5,000 women for antenatal care.

Our service was rated as “good” by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), and NHS Improvement has commended us for our enhancements in the past 18 months. Staff members reported favorable support and a culture of learning, rather than criticism, during a CCG Insight visit, which revealed enhancements in morale and culture. Our service is centered on safety and high-quality patient experiences, and we are fully compliant with Ockenden’s safety measures.

We have received the “Practice Excellence Award 2020” (Poppy Team) from City University and the “Outstanding Placement of the Year” (Tulip Team) this year, which is a testament to the high regard our students have for us. Our perinatal mental health team was awarded the NMC Excellence in Mental Health Award in 2021, and our bereavement service was recognized with the RCM award for bereavement care in 2018. The Capital Midwife Preceptorship Mark was awarded to us in 2021. Our maternity service has been awarded a perfect five-star rating on NHS Choices!

The staff accommodation of our trust is located in North London, which is conveniently located near central London and London transport terminals. We are located in Zone 4, which reduces the cost of transportation to work and provides on-site parking.

Responsibilities of Bereavement Midwife Jobs in UK

  • Lead and support staff are responsible for establishing the standards of care in the provision of information and practical advice to parents who have experienced the loss of their infant through miscarriage, termination for abnormalities, stillbirth, neonatal, or Sudden Unexpected Infant Death Syndrome.
  • Facilitate the provision of information by providing expert support and assistance to personnel. The provision of care, support, and practical advice to women and birthing individuals with confirmed fetal abnormalities, including those who elect to terminate their pregnancy and those who elect to continue their pregnancy, includes the coordination of palliative care when appropriate.
  • Assume the role of the designated lead and coordinator for families, staff, and women/birthing individuals in relation to information concerning pregnancy loss.
