What will I be doing as a General Ophthalmologists?
The post holder will be obligated to supervise the provision of adult community ophthalmology services by healthcare professionals in accordance with CHEC treatment protocols and working practices and to perform a variety of ophthalmology appointments on patients referred to CHEC.
The post holder will provide high-quality clinical care to patients who attend the community ophthalmology service in the following areas on a daily basis:
- Ophthalmology in general
- Services for glaucoma
- AMD
- Laser therapy
- Minor operations on the eye
- If applicable, high-volume phacoemulsification may be performed under topical anesthesia.
To be successful in this role
We are seeking experienced general ophthalmologists of all grades to conduct consultation clinics and/or cataract surgery across the spectrum of services we provide in order to maintain our support for the NHS. It is anticipated that applicants will possess a superior clinical quality record and be able to exhibit the capacity to operate effectively in clinics and theaters. Additionally, applicants must exhibit dedication to exceptional collaboration. The clinical director will review the postholder’s job plan at least once a year.
