Max Planck Institute Scholarship Invites International PhD Applicants for 2025

The Max Planck Society has now opened its 2025 intake of fully funded PhD positions, welcoming applications from international candidates across its diverse International Max Planck Research Schools (IMPRS) and Graduate Centers. These programs—for example in Solar System Science, Structural Biology, Molecular Life Sciences, Plant Sciences, Ultrafast Imaging, and Climate Modelling—offer up to three‑year (sometimes extendable) employment contracts under the TVöD‑E13 scale (typically around 65 %), providing net monthly stipends in the €1,600–€1,700 range, along with full social benefits including health insurance, pension contributions, paid leave, and conference travel support.

    Applicants from any country with a Master’s degree (or equivalent research-based 4‑year BSc in some cases) can apply 
    Exceptionally strong Bachelor’s graduates with research experience and thesis may also be considered for some programs 
    English proficiency (typically B2 level) is required; some programs accept unofficial transcripts and optional TOEFL/IELTS
